GARY KUBIAK EXPECTS RAY RICE TO REBOUND IN 2014
Baltimore Ravens new offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak said he believes running back Ray Rice will get back on track in 2014. The two talked recently and agreed that Rice should just forget about last season and move forward.
Though Kubiak noted that he plans to share Rice’s carries with Bernard Pierce similarly to how he split up starter Arian Foster with backup Ben Tate in Houston, he does believe that Rice will be the primary weapon in the offense.
"I think as he goes, we’ll go," Kubiak said of Rice according to the official team website. "We’ve just got to get him going, doing what he does best, and that’s us studying him and fitting him with our system and those type of things. It’s hard to hand it to one guy 30 times a game; they just get worn down. It’ll take both of them. They’re very talented and if we can get both of them going, the better we’ll be."
Rice had a disasterous 2013 partially because of a hip injury he played through, partially because of a poor offensive line that couldn’t block effectively. The six-year veteran totaled just 981 yards last year with four touchdowns. (Photo: Associated Press)
